The company

Our client is an established player in the eCommerce and Fintech sector and they are moving to grow throughout the Asia-Pacific region. It has an extensive presence both locally and across the Asia-Pacific region, and they are on the lookout for an addition who is excited about making a tangible impact with a fast-growing organistion.

The role

  • Drive the creation of a comprehensive regulatory compliance program and governance structure for all financial products and services in APAC 
  • Execute and monitor the compliance programs and processes across APAC for the company's business verticals, in alignment with the regional and local legal and compliance teams, GRC and management
  • Build and maintain the company's relationship with applicable regulators
  • Manage a team of compliance counsels and compliance managers
  • Ensure the company’s legal policies are implemented and aligned among the regions
  • Provide legal support for license application
  • The chosen candidate will need to serve as a business adviser and subject matter expert for new business and payment products

What candidates must possess
  • Qualified lawyer with at least 7PQE and qualified to practice law in a common law jurisdiction
  • Experience in the field of compliance and/or financial services regulation with reputable law firms or as in-house counsel
  • Ability to work independently and systematically, yet still able to work comfortably in a team
  • Ability to have good organisational skills with the ability to manage, prioritise and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, commercially astute, with strong interpersonal skills
